Cafe society

Still backblipping - unfortunately, where we stayed in Spain had strictly limited internet data figures, and after Mike had spent two-hours Face-Timing a friend, he'd used their entire data allowance for the week! Inconvenient for me (couldn't blip) rather more of a problem for the owner, as his other job was web-design!

Home now, with unlimited data (hurrah) do I'm trying to catch up with your journals.

OK - the pic. We sadly tried to book tickets to the Alhambra a couple of weeks ago, only to find they were fully booked for the whole of our 10 day trip. However, there are restricted ticket availability for the gardens available each day so we took the 2-hour drive to Granada to try our luck. On arrival, the queue for garden tickets seemed to go on forever, and we didn't feel like queueing for an hour only to be unlucky, so took a bus tour round the city. Fascinating plaace, and a real mix of architectural styles, with Spanish architecture right next to moorish. One street was just like walking through Marrakech, only without the hassle, and with the ability to take photos without paying for the privilege. This shot was taken on our lunch stop, which summed up for me the Spanish lifestyle. The ability to eat outside in good weather (yes - I'm home and it's raining) and enjoy a quiet meal, wine and good chat - apart from some bloke pointing his lens at you - I think the lady was trying to fish a fly out of her wine - it's certainly full-bodied, but not so thick as you can cut it with a knife.
