Return to Langdale

A very wet day today and I'm pleased to report that all wet weather gear functioned well!

It seemed to have rained all night and first thing this morning it seemed that we might have a reasonable day weatherise.  HOWEVER, once we started walking it wasn't long before the overtrousers came out, followed by hats, coats done up as high as possible, cameras well and truly hidden away.

We walked from Chapel Stile to Grasmere and back and treated ourselves to a sandwich under the church lych gate in Grasmere and a piece of Grasmere gingerbread to fortify us for the 25% gradient back up to High Close on the route back to Langdale.  Fitbit is telling me that we've done just over 20,000 steps and our legs certainly know about it today!  We were very pleased with ourselves for resisting the temptation to catch a bus back.  We were soaked!  Rob had to purchase a new hat in Grasmere and very fetching it looks too.  You should be able to find my favourite man modelling his new headgear in extras.  The weather began to clear a little as we headed back down towards Langdale as you can see from this shot.
