Perisher

Lying in bed this morning, hearing the wind howling outside, I was wondering if we'd be skiing.

Yes it appeared, so off we went, the mission, explore Perisher! And explore we did, one side to the other, riding 12 lifts, 19 times (so our passes told us) with a vertical of nearly 4000m.

What was it like? We'll I was a little worried at first, short runs and frozen snow, but we then found the Ridge Quad and things improved. Long runs, good slope and great snow. Still windy, but good skijng. We eventually moved right to the other side to the Mt Perisher Triple and T-bars, and again, good snow, good slope. Real fun skiing. At 3 we met the marketing manager and had a very long discussion on the pros/cons, challenges of skiing in NZ and Australia. Very interesting.

So, the overall impression. Way way better than what I expected and some really good skiing. Then we skied back to our Chalet, wandered down the bar for live music. Brilliant.

And now it's snowing hard, fresh stuff tomorrow with luck!

Crazy coming to ski Aussie? Not at all, certainly made me rethink how we marketing skiing in NZ.
