Industrial Plumes
Water-laden warm air rises above the industrial complex of Grangemouth. Once it cools below its dew-point, it becomes visible but being warmer than the surrounding air, continues to rise. Convection then comes to a halt when it reaches a layer of air that is warmer and there it spreads out merging into the general cloud layer.
A similar plume had formed above the closer petro-chemical site of Mossmorran but my viewing point, Pettycur, Kinghorn, was too close to capture it well (see 'extra')
