London trip

Am in London. The start of the day was a bit stressful as we had to drive down the back roads to get to the train station on time. On arriving with lots of time to spare the parking machine was broken and the queue fit prepaid tickets was awful, it felt a bit touch and go.

Checked into a nice hotel in Bankside literally two minutes from the Tate. Went for a lovely lunch at a place called 'Baltic' which is near the Old Vic. It specialised in Eastern European cuisine, mainly Polish and some Russian. It was nice. The starter of smoked eels and horseradish was something else!

Went to St Paul's with my annual pass and had a part wander without the worry in needed to do everything.

By six I felt shattered and it's possibly down to relaxing a bit. Got some free food and drink at the hotel and then wandered out and ended up at the Georgia O'Keefe exhibition at the Tate which was mesmerising. The colours and textures of the oil paintings are amazing, the photos and cards they sold in the gift shop lacked a true vibrancy, her work is something you need to see first hand as it seems they can't quite reproduce the colours in art books!

Quiet evening and an early night! Rather tired. Hope I have energy to get up early!
