Black Snow.

Things have really moved on over the last couple of days.  Most of the main verandah deck is now fitted and we have turned to the slightly more technical part.  The trickiest job is going to be fitting the decking up against the Lodge.

Because of the construction of the lodge the decking need to fit under the planks rather than just but up to them.  Fortunately the material the decking is made of (polyester plastic filled with wood fibres I think) works beautifully with wood working tools either hand or power.

As the decking is marginally thicker than the wood which it is replacing the obvious answer was to route a little off.  So the shot shows the "black snow" created by the router and a practice piece.   Once we got down to the serious fitting there was masses of the stuff.
