If you can't beat them...

The Courtyard Lowther Castle.

After Clickychick had been shopping in the morning we went looking for blips.  We thought Lowther may have good autumn colour so began by heading there.  Last time we visited they had made changes to the courtyard.   The trees had been planted and for me they spoil what was an impressive space.

The cafe at the right was a coach-house and the buildings centre shot were stables.  They certainly wouldn't have wanted to be forced to slalom round trees trimmed into square lollipops.  So what was a beautiful open space where you could sit and imagine the day to day activity.  Horses being taken out for exercise, carriages cleaned and taken to the front of the castle for Lord Lonsdale is now more reminiscent of the continent than a Cumbria stately home.

After deciding the colour wasn't what we wanted we made our way to Larch Cottage Nursery.   The lattes were good and CC found a lot of flower shots.
