Sgwarnog: In the Field

By sgwarnog

Still

After spending the day inside writing I managed to get outside for the last hour of light and a further hourof twilight to dusk. Not ideal conditions for catching autumn colours, but you ger the impressions of them at least.

There was no sign of the swans down at Tong Park dam, but there were seven Goosander, which I think is the most I've seen together anywhere. Perhaps a pair and a a good brood of juveniles? I'm sure you can spot the Grey Heron at the far end of the lake, one of a pair there tonight.

Stumbling through the gathering gloom I stopped to watch the bats hawking along Moorside before heading back over the moor home.
