Life through the lens...

Victoria Gate

A morning ( free) bus ride into Leeds to see the new John Lewis store which opened last week.
The photo is not the new store, but the new Victoria Gate Arcade which is adjoining the store, and leads you through to the Victoria Quarter in the centre of Leeds.
This was what we liked best, especially the lovely glass roof, and the stunning floor.
Some new shops such as Anthropologie, and the Australian tea brand, T2.
The casino will be opening next year, along with a roof top restaurant.
We made the most of my vouchers, and had a free coffee and cake. Both chose a delicious lemon tart. ( cost would have been £11.50)
Had to smile at two elderly ladies in front of us who asked the assistant if it was waitress service, and did they do toasted tea cakes.
The answer to both was " No".
So they decided just to have a coffee.
I somehow don't think they will be back.
Reminded me of my mum who always ordered a pot of tea and a toasted tea cake.
I'm not sure that John Lewis had the WOW factor I thought it would, but then we have so many wonderful shops in Leeds in choose from.
