University Parks: Impatiens tinctoria

More alien (again) in large.
Close-up detail

Well, these are weird... I've photographed Impatiens flowers before (mentioned and linked-to here and here). All the species that I've seen have long spurs formed from fused sepals, with the spurs being curly in those that I've seen previously (like chameleon tails), and extremely elongated in this species.
I also had fun photographing droplets, a yellow poppy glowing out of the darkness, and a little hoverfly on Persicaria.

My other shots (inc. more angles on these intriguing Impatiens flowers) are on Flickr (at the top of this page, or right from here).
