Now, as I see it......

Grantchester

A few weeks ago I saw a Blip taken at the Orchard Tea Garden in Grantchester ( https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2217072147686230197 ) and thought it looked a nice place to visit, so today we had a drive over. Most of the seating is on deck chairs under the apple trees but as it was a bit chilly we sat inside the wonderfully old-fashioned wooden tea-room itself. The place has a history as the poet Rupert Brooke used to live in the house and entertained the fashionable set of the day in the orchard; people like Virginia Woolf, Bertrand Russell and Maynard Keynes.

An added bonus as we drove into the village was that there was an extensive film crew around the village recording episodes of the crime drama 'Grantchester' which stars James Norton as crime-solving cleric Sidney Chambers. My picture shows the church surrounded by the lighting set up for the filming, and I've added a fairly heavily cropped extra of James Norton himself in costume, who W was particularly pleased to see! If you look carefully you can also see Al Weaver lurking behind the tree, who plays the timid priest Leonard Finch in the series.
