The Way of Colour

Still stuck in a barrel

16C today. Haar. Dull, damp and definitely cooler.

No bridle path today, I suspect it would have been very wet. Maeve the Deerhound and I went straight down the country road at the side of our house towards the shore instead, then along the cycle path to the level crossing to where we usually access the beach. I noticed that there has been a lot more activity by the farm workers on the shore side of the railway line. A lot more discard material (raspberry canes and spent compost) has been spread and worked over. Again I am wondering if this might eventually make this access point to the beach unusable. Only time will tell.

The tide was high today, so only a strip of soft beach to plod along. Maeve wasn't too ploddy as it was cooler. Lots of seaweed piled up at the edge of the water by the more active sea of the last day or two. In places more than three feet thick and not at all attractive.

The Fishermen's huts were almost deserted again today. Only the owner of "Valhalla V" was there. He was using a pressure washer on the hull. There were quite a few creels stacked up nearby, so I am not sure if the boat is out of the water for this year or whether he is using the newer boat I have seen in the water for the last week or so. The smaller boat that was being restored and painted a few weeks ago is out of the water too and back in its place in front of the huts.

I had another look around the bleached barrel of yesterday's blip. It sits next to the barrel with the red buoy perched on top that I blipped back at the end of June. I have gone for a close up shot of the barrel with the buoy today. It isn't so bleached, but has a huge jagged cut running across one side and plenty of bright blue colour :-)

Later Apothecary7 will be going from work to a meeting and will be late home.
