My Day, My Life

These Are The Days Of Our Lives

Well, that's it folks, the Olympics are finished!

But, in a couple of weeks, the Paralympics will begin.
There may not be as big a fanfare for the start of these games but nevertheless these athletes will be giving everything they've got to win a medal, for them and their country.

Good luck to them all!

The closing ceremony, for me was a bit of a mixed bag.

Part entertaining, part endurance, there is no denying the wealth of musical talent our country has produced but while some of the newer acts got their fair share of the limelight, other musical legends were merely hinted at, or used as an interlude.

The promise of Kate Bush, sadly didn't come true.

Also David Bowie, on hearing his voice, could it be too good to be true?

Yes it was, too good to be true.

Still at least there was the surprise appearance of the supermodels, bursting out from the giant images of themselves, while Fashion played through the p.a. system.

Highlights for me were Ray Davies, The Kaiser Chiefs and The Who.

Queen, who could ever replace Freddie Mercury?

No one!

Well I used to think George Michael, because he had a similar vocal range.

But Jesse J is no Freddie.

There is a man by the name of Garry Mullen who won the grand final of tv show 'Stars in Their Eyes' with an uncanny performance of F.M. and he still tours the world doing so but he's never been asked to sing with Brian & Roger.

As far as I'm aware.

Guys?
