D-Day landings pier ...

Our last day in the New Forest and after saying goodbye to the others, Steve and I headed over to Lepe Country Park.

We walked along the beach as far as the old war remains.  It was a rather dull day however, heading back, the sun peeped through the clouds casting a lovely light on the water.  We stopped off to take some pictures of the groynes and the remains of the pier used for the D-Day landings at Lepe beach (as featured in my blip). I couldn't decide if I preferred the colour or mono version, so i've added the mono as an extra.

We stopped off at Hythe to see the pier which, to be honest, didn't really inspire us before heading back to Lyndhurst for some lunch in The Swan Inn. A delicious ploughman's lunch with a shandy in front of a real fire was the perfect end to a great weekend.

Thanks to Steve, Trevor, Gill, Jane, Cat, Liz, Neil and Clive for making it such a fab weekend with, as always when we get together, loads and loads of laughs :-)))

Ok, after input from Steve, I have to agree that the mono version is better, so i've swopped them over!!!  Something wrong here - men aren't normally right!!!  ;-))))
