13/16ths - Strange!

As the seasons change there are certain events, rituals if you will, that accompany those changes.  Today is the day for two of those rituals.
The first is the changing of the wheels. The summer tyres go down to the cellar for the winter, and the studded winter tyres go on the car to hopefully keep us safe and get us up the steep hill to our village.  I thought it interesting that the wheel nuts are apparently 13/16ths, even though the car is Korean by design and built in Poland and everything else is metric.  So wheel nuts join TV screens (42")  and timber (2"X4") that still use those archaic units.
We decide when to change the wheels but the second ritual is one we have no control over - the clocks go back today. We get an extra hour in bed, it will be dark even earlier, and my watch will once again tell the correct time.
