Halloween Cookies

Our friend Mary Ann in Kansas bakes cookies. (She does considerably more than bake cookies; she's a very skilled, intelligent and funny lady, but she does bake good cookies.). When we visited her a few weeks ago she had baked us some Halloween cookies; a batch to eat while we were there and a batch to bring home with us. These are the last of the 'home' batch and it is a mark of how good they are that they still taste fresh and crisp. They are only about an inch high so the decorations are tiny; I like the minute ghosts on the house cookie! Sadly all finished now, but we still have a few of her superb home made caramels to finish off (did I mention she also makes caramels?).
