Stars for Diwali

How appropriate that the Hindu Festival of Lights - Diwali falls on this day, the beginning of our winter darkness.
A small trail of stars to mark my quiet return to Blip, one small step.
I lit the lights on my self seeded fir tree to mark Diwali and as I took this image, paper lanterns soared overhead. Whether in celebration or rememberance they drifted upwards and away into the night - gone or their flames faded into darkness.
