Laburnum RIP

Having not flowered well in the spring, our laburnum had been looking "sick" all year so I judged that it was time to cut it down. As the logs show well, the heart wood was dead, and one of the four main branches was completely dead: not good with it being taller than the distance to the road.

So I took on the challenge of felling it with a ladder and chainsaw. We now have some wood for burning at least.

The extra shows it in its prime 12 years ago.
