No Flies on Me

. . . Because they are far more interested in this.

A common stinkhorn fungus (Phallus impudicus) 

Surprisingly, it wasn't the smell that drew my attention, but the cloud of flies that rose from it as I approached too close.

I let them all re-settle and photographed them through a telephoto lens from about 5 feet away.  I then switched to macro and moved in closer but the majority of the flies flew off again leaving just a few orange Lauxaniid flies.
