Green Bee-eater(Merops orientalis)

Aren't these birds just stunning, these Green Bee-eaters are resident birds here in Oman. They are probably now at their most colourful because they have new bright feathers, after the long summer their plumage is incredibly faded and they completely lack condition, but as you can see this delightful pair are just beautiful. I love the colour combination almost as much as my favourite the Kingfisher! A fabulous sight under a very cloudy sky today here in Muscat.
