A Splash of Color

Sometimes all you need is a splash of color to separate the beauty of the moment from the dullness of the ordinary.  When Moira and I went for a nature walk after school, she very excited pointed out this pretty butterfly that we almost overlooked in the sea of brown mulch.  We took off our shoes and held our breaths waiting to see if the butterfly would land closer.  Maybe even land on Moira's outstretched finger.   Though the butterfly did not land where we wanted, it gave each of us a quiet moment to see beauty in the ordinary.

If you see something that moves you, and then snap it, you keep a moment.”
