Canadian Sports Hall of Fame 2016 Induction

We had the distinct honour of being invited to attend this years induction of 7 remarkable athletes. Comedien Martin Short was MC and The Bare Naked Ladies provided the musical entertainment. We were part of our University of Victoria (British Columbia) Alumni contingent and were so incredibly proud of our inductee Paraolympian swimmer Stephanie Dixon. Such an inspirational and great night with UVic Athletic Director and Chancellor. We had so much fun at the pre-event reception and then on to the main event. I was particularly amazed by the accomplishments of Dr Frank Hayden. He is the creator and biggest supporter of the Special Olympics - we had chills and tears hearing his story. The most recognizble and famous inductee is a neighbour by the name of Pinball Clemons (American Football, bottom left photo). He was such an incredible motivational speaker....we were in complete awe. To sleep at 1 a.m. and up again for work at 5 a.m...sigh...
