House Finch

There was one little male House Finch among the chickadees, nuthatches and goldfinches today at Croydon Creek.  Another visitor, a beautiful fox, ran toward me on the path.  I knew he didn't see me, and in the next three seconds I debated whether to try and get a blip, or move and scare him away.  The last time I had a similar encounter with a wild creature, it was a raccoon on my patio and I stuck it out.  In retrospect I felt that might have been a foolish risk, since it got within a couple of feet of me, but I did get my blip.  This time I took the more cautious route since the fox was moving toward me so quickly.  I moved my arms and he was gone in a flash.  Oh well, maybe next time.
