The Old Forge (Thursday 3rd November 2016)

I'd been looking at this copper beech only a week earlier. It didn't look like a copper beech at all because its leaves were a pale green. It was masked from the light by other trees, including the cotoneaster of the previous blip. These have since been cut back, and in a very short space of time the leaves have turned to this golden copper. It was bought as a young sapling a long time ago but still has a very thin trunk considering its age. I hope it will respond to a bit of TLC now.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash - Girl from the North Country (Silver Linings Playbook soundtrack) (recorded 17-18 February 1969, Nashville TN)
Dylan recorded this song on his Freewheelin' album of 1963, but revisited it for this version when Johnny Cash joined him while he was recording the Nashville Skyline album. Dylan conceived the idea of the song, about his girlfriend Echo Helstrom, in 1959 but didn't commit it to paper until December 1962.
It was used to good effect in the Bradley Cooper/Jennifer Lawrence film Silver Linings Playbook, which I saw on this day. This film clip includes some dialogue.
