Sofas

Sofas are very, very, very, lovely places for gorgeous little collies to have a snooze. Sofas are places where very gorgeous little collies are not really supposed to be??!!
Yesterday Ann went to IKEA because she wanted to eat their famous meatballs for lunch buy us a couple of new sofas. This very lovely looking sofa that I am lying on is soo, soo comfy................ but it's more than 20 years old and although it looks OK, (you should see the back of it), the leather is split, the stuffing is coming out of the cushions and at some point over the last 20 years (when the flat has been rented out & redecorated), someone has managed to paint a splodge of white paint over about a quarter of the back of it. Grrrrrr..................
Anyway, tomorrow we have two new lovely sofas arriving and our two mega old sofas will be leaving. Thank you IKEA. Your customer service is ace! Pretty sure IKEA have a way of tracking awkward customers but honestly their sales team are fabulous. Love them all. Also love their meatballs, breakfasts & free coffee.
Soooooooo............................. I had to stay 'home alone' while Ann went to IKEA and ordered us a black 2 seater leather sofa and a black leather matching chair. By the time Ann had faffed around and eaten a few of the famous IKEA meatballs she decided that it would be better to buy two sofas.
Sooooooo.......................... changed her order (IKEA staff were brilliant) to two black leather sofas.
Job done. Whoopee doo.
BUT when she got home she started thinking....................... maybe our flat is a bit too much black & white???? Sooooo........................ she wanted to change our sofa colour from black to grey? (For those of you who don't normally follow our Blips, we have homes in St Ives & Edinburgh and are trying to flit between the two and are trying to rent out the one that we're not in.) Over the last few days Ann has seen some lovely sofas but at the end of the day, if the flat is going to be rented out, we must be practical and leather is easy to wipe clean.
Anyway after a lot of communication with IKEA – job done.
And our new sofas are being delivered tomorrow and our old ones are being taken away at the same time. Yay! WE LOVE IKEA!
And this afternoon Ann went to the cinema with her friend, Susi, to see 'Bridget Jones Baby'. Going to the cinema in the afternoon obviously involved having a glass of wine when the film was over so I had to have my afternoon walk in the morning, snooze on the sofa all afternoon, and I've just had another little walk in the rain.
…....................And in other news......................... the job offers for Ann are now coming in thick and fast. She's already signed up with one agency that has some 'event hospitality' work for her. Another agency wants to 'induct' her next week. And a private members club just round the corner from us left a message earlier to say that they're looking for a bar person for immediate start, ie tomorrow lunchtime?!! Well that won't be happening as we have to wait in for our new sofas to be delivered.
So the question is?............................ Is it better for Ann to do agency work and trek half way across the city to wherever the work is, BUT can pick and chose when she works. Or is it better to work round the corner on a regular basis, BUT maybe can't take time off when one wants???? Problems, problems.

Anyway it's almost time for 'Corrie' now.
Happy Friday Evening Blippers. xx
