Bumble bee on the lupins.

Goodness me, I nearly forgot to blip tonight - I wondered why I had spare time.

I watched this bumble bee on lupin flowers this morning. It was intriguing as the bumble bee would feed, then lean back, hanging on with the four back legs and using the two front ones to rub over its little face. This action it repeated over and over again

You can see the process in action here but unfortunately a single shot can't show the careful wiping of the face with the two front feet.

I didn't realise the proboscis is in two parts either. Here, it looks like the bee is talking or laughing. It almost resembles a beak.
