Fergus

Today’s picture is of Fergus the larger of our two foxes; well, the two that we actually see. It is not as sharp as it might have been if he had not been rushing about. This was the second time that he was seen this morning although of course he could have visited many more times unseen by us. My husband had been taking pictures of the Reeves Muntjac when they rushed out of the garden; spooked by the fox. He is turn was spooked by a passing train, but came back a few minutes later. Obviously looking for fruit under the trees.

It has been cold and damp all day, not a day for going out, but for staying in with the heating on and continuing with some knitting. Our local fireworks took place last night and we watched some of them from the balcony, before retreating inside to watch from the bedroom window. They were not, in our opinion as good this year as they usually are. Dougal and Florence were put to bed early with their supper so that they would hopefully settle down. Florence was quite unperturbed by the noise; Dougal on the other hand got as far under a chair as he could. Sybil, their sibling, (who lives with our daughter) was also upset by the noise, despite having been given her calming medicine early. I suspect that there will be some private parties letting off fireworks tonight, but hopefully the will not last very long. I often wonder if the wild animals are frightened by the noise; I am sure that they must be.
