Safely berthed

A very wild and windy night and incredible gales all day with sleet and hail in amongst them.  Poor Postie was well muffled up as he set off in his van!

Ollie and I braved the weather to join the community garden tidy up, which still went ahead because it is well sheltered down in the middle of St Margaret's Hope.  J and Scratch were there too, so Ollie had a friend to play with!  The coffee break ended up as a 75th birthday party, with non alcoholic mulled wine, pumpkin pie and cream cakes!  Just what you need to refuel you on a day like this!

The afternoon was spent sorting jumble, bric-a-brac and books for the sale in the village hall tomorrow.  J & S were there too - as were two others from this mornings exertions!  Then we all went home and will spend this evening baking for the cafe which will be open tomorrow . . .  Thank goodness these things only come round once in a while!

Extra is the most original neepie lantern I have ever seen!
