Heidenreichstein Fort - Autumn

We called into see some friends this afternoon. They have bought a house and are doing some major renovations. We sat guiltily in the warmth of the kitchen and drank coffee and ate donuts while their friends and family were loading up the skip with debris. We left them to drive to the castle which is not far from their house. I like to photograph this each season. I tried earlier in the month but the leaves hid the castle and now I have probably left it a bit late. It was very foggy all day, typical of Autumn in this region, and it is a real peasouper outside now, almost midnight. It was bone chilling cold, too. Even though it was just above zero it felt much colder with the chill factor. We didn't linger too long before heading off home to light the fire and cook a Thai red curry for dinner.
