Ripening blackberries

The summer sun is fading as the year grows old
And darker days are drawing near

The days are definitely drawing in - it's getting noticeable now.
Berries ripening, the year is getting older.

Usually I love this time of year - the evenings are still light for a while after I get home, and it's still warm enough to be summer, but the hint of autumn is in the air. This year it's been too cold and wet to really look forward to autumn - can we have some summer please?
