Brent Tor without the Church

Don't you hate it when that happens? I drove for an hour to get to Brentor where the ancient church of St Michael de Rupes stands on top of a rocky outcrop. As I got close I noticed it was shining brightly against the skyline instead of its usual dark granite look. It was robed in scaffolding and screening.

The light was beautiful so I carried on up to see what I could get without the scaffolding. I liked this old hawthorn tree bending over to the horizon. Because of the shape of the land I couldn't get lower to get it clear of the horizon but that's OK.

My extra is a shot of the church tower from below with its scaffolding hidden and there are a few more here if you'd like to see them.
