Race Day 2

Another back blip
The forecast was for similar weather and a little less breezy - and there were clear starry skies overnight.
However, by getting up time it was squally and the rain began, with snow quite low down. We went down to register for the runs to be told the emergency route might have to be used again. The 9am boat across Ullswater couldn't go (we were to sail across and run back below the hills in the pic), but they were to try again at 10am and put everything back an hour. Unfortunately it wasn't to be, the captain couldn't leave because of the wind direction so we had the emergency route we had last year - a shorter out and back with a loop in the middle, but a nice route - and everyone would run at 12noon instead of 3 separate runs. Once again our attempts to cross Ullswater on the boat had been foiled.
The wind decided to abate soon after, but too late to change plans again, and I had a lovely run and was more than 5 mins quicker than last year (though we didn't have much of a head wind). No prizes today but another lazy evening in the cottage.
