Sunshine on Glasgow

Visited Glasgow today for the first time in years, as TJ was born there.  We couldn't have picked a nicer day for our stroll around the town centre and were delighted at the beautiful old buildings that are still in use today.  You just have to look up to fully appreciate them!

We had our anniversary lunch at The Two Fat Ladies in Argyle Street, which I'd seen recommended on line.  Not an easy place to find and when we approached I did wonder if I'd made a terrible mistake, as it looks so run down from outside.

However, once inside, it was a very different experience and a sheer delight in every way.  Lovely interior, very friendly and efficient staff, superb food etc, etc.  We had planned to have three courses, but by the time we'd had two with a glass of wine, there was barely room for a coffee.  We were served this with a plate of delicious truffles, some of which were wrapped for us to take away as we couldn't manage them all:-)  Very highly recommended if you want a special meal in Glasgow!

We also visited the Christmas market in St Enoch's Square, but have to say it's not as good as Edinburgh's!  Too many food outlets and not enough shopping stalls.

A most enjoyable day and the bus driver took the strain of the journey back to Perth through the rush-hour traffic, for which we were very grateful!  Don't need anything else to eat tonight, that's for sure:-)
