Ermine

'So, ok, it feigns death. So?!!" I said indignantly as my family rolled around laughing after having had a look at the moth book. It may have been deathly still to photograph but the bramble surely wasn't still in the wind! Not so easy!! Quick despairing head shake here!

Furry and brilliant white this white ermine Spilosoma lubricipeda was very conspicuous against the green in the dark of the hedge. A night flier apparently it ejects an unpleasant odour from it's thorax when threatened.

Getting ready for Tam's birthday, so leaving it there!
