The red cliffs of Jed

I picked up my friend Tim in Edinburgh this morning - he'd driven down from Skye - and set off for Harrogate. We drove down the A68 and paused in a campsite by the Jed Water to photograph the red cliffs and the autumn colours. I couldn't quite get what I wanted, but this will have to do!

We arrived in Harrogate by 5.30 and later went to Wetherspoons 'Winter Garden' pub, which must be the biggest branch around - it's huge! It was formerly the Winter Garden attached to the Turkish Baths in Harrogate and though it's a typical Wetherspoons in food and service, the building is absolutely magnificent and worth going for that alone!
