Full Plaster Jacket

Angie collected Eddie from the vet at midday. He was delighted to see her and immediately started to suck on her lip, a habit we didn't stop him doing as he had clearly been separated from his mother too early. Even today we give him a baby bottle of "milk" to suckle on.

Vets are concerned he may have some internal damage as he hasn't emptied his bladder and they have had to do that under anaesthetic. If he doesn't pee by 6:00pm, we need to take him back in to have it done again. In the photo one can see the bandaged up  i.V. needle ready.

So home they came and Eddie was simply furious. Really mad, angry, frustrated. He was now on home territory amongst all the furniture to climb on and all the other cats and toys to chase and play with. But we couldn't let him go, not even put him on the sofa next to us. Using his rear legs he could catapult himself to the floor. Couldn't put him in a large dog cage as he tried to clamber the wires but luckily had a large hamster cage where he can, if he could, stand up and walk around in.

Angie was due to be at her, every five year, school class reunion tonight near Munich and really didn't want to leave Eddie alone (with me!) But she luckily overcame the fear particularly when, just before she left, she had another go at trying to persuade him to pee. And he obliged. Boy were we happy and Angie set off.

When she was out of sight, Eddie, Flash and I started to have a boys evening and I had him with me in the kitchen to cook home-made hamburgers, chips and a beer. Eddie loved being able to cuddle up with his best buddy. He so adores Flash but sadly Flash can't control his own movements too well especially on slippery tiles. So had to keep a look out.

When Angie returned sometime after midnight, she did the trick with Eddie and his litter tray again and it worked. I had tried and failed. He was then to have a good quiet night. So things ended better than expected.
