Kia kaha.....stay strong people.....

Morning dawned overcast, calm and eerie as aftershocks continued to rock and sway our house but we are safe, thankfully.

It was a long night which started just after midnight when a severe 7.5 earthquake rolled on through, shaking, rattling with much swaying which seemed to last forever, just thinking it had stopped and away she'd go again, leaving us feeling ill with the motion, the moon continued to shine through the curtains lighting spots of darkness.

The roads in the district of North Canterbury are cracked with deep ruts running in all directions, hence my blip today, a take of an environment left in the hands of mother nature - crickey she was having words last night!

Kaikoura has worn the brunt of it as roads are severely damaged north and south along with rail links leaving Kaikoura completely cut off, Blenheim without electricity, Wellington also affected along with a tsunami warning along the east coast of NZ which has now been lifted, yes we all felt it New Zealand wide.

Thank you all for your caring words, here and on facebook. Hubby, Daughter E and I are safe, mum is safe, Daughter A in Wellington is safe, we are truly grateful for your messages of concern, thank you xx

Jagged or jaded....whichever is the case......leaving us cold, and feeling very unsettled.......it's been a weary Monday......

Edit: The TV news is devastating tonight, very emotional.....some shots taken off the TV tonight in extras
