Gilbert

I woke early and drank coffee with Gilbert. Rachel's 8 o'clock tennis match was postponed till 9, so she didn't surface. I went home via Sainsburys.

Later, I returned to Edinburgh to sort out Megs with a phone. On the way, I screwed up at the junction of Yeaman Place and Dundee Street and managed to stove in the rear door of a Saab while trashing the Subaru's bumper. No one hurt, or even particularly upset. Just one of those things that we have insurance for.

At Carphone Warehouse their system is broken, so we duck into EE and pay even more. It still takes ages, unblocking, credit checking, manually authorising. But Megan leaves with phone & SIM, although the service still says 'emergency calls only'.

Back home, Alison & Tony are loading up squash court flooring to take to Inverness. They squeeze in 190m which leaves 120m to collect later. And in the dark we retrieve their muddy hose and coil it up.
