Brothers Water from Kirkstone Pass

We were hoping for a smooth trip to Glenridding being as it was Sunday. It turned pretty good with one exception where we came across two escorted wide loads holding up traffic in the roadworks around Lancaster.

We started in bright sunshine which faded the further north we travelled so that by the time we reached Cumbria it was dull and drizzly. I wondered what today's shot would be but was able, in the dying light, to capture Brothers Water and the Ullswater valley from the top of Kirkstone Pass.

Enjoyed complimentary tea and scones at the hotel in front of a pleasant fire (not real but very effective). The hotel looks lovely, all decorated for Christmas, which we hadn't expected. I was tempted to blip the tea, fireplace and a small portion of the decorations but resisted. A tasty meal completed the day being rounded off with coffee and chocolate back beside that fire.
