Quite Calm

14.1C with smir and drizzle until early afternoon. Moderate WSW/W breeze.

Maeve the Deerhound and I went for the repeat of our usual morning walk about 2pm when it looked like the smir might be stopping. We were lucky. It had stopped and it stayed away.

We wandered round by Aquilibrium and along by the harbour. There were some fishing boats tied up at the old quay. MILA was getting ready to take on wind turbine tower sections. Two had arrived and were waiting on the quay and one was hooked up to the cranes but nothing was moving.

Maeve and I went along the narrow park past the ferry terminal on the path by the loch and kept on walking slowly along. Maeve seemed quite happy to wander, so we went past the cemetery and as far as the milestone out on Kilkerran road. We stood and watched a red fishing boat come in through the channel by Davaar island then we started back. There was no sign of the moderate breeze on the side of the loch where we were walking. It felt quite calm. Arran was completely hidden by low clouds.

We came back along the street side of the park and back though town and crossed Main Street to go past the town hall and the bookshop (open).

There have been some amazing orange and pink colours developing under the clouds while I have been sitting writing this and the sun has been getting low behind Gallow Hill.

Afternoon music ... Dr Hook, Bankrupt. Eagles, Long Road Out Of Eden.
