Falkirk Wheel

Went for a visit to the Falkirk Wheel, we'd read that it was closed for servicing but did think that the visitor's centre and some of the canal path might have been open - just a viewing area really.  But no unfortunately not. Still enjoyed the visit and looking at this feat of engineering.  We will definitely be back in the spring. 

WE also went to the Bo'ness Motor Museumo, a must for Bond movie fans. Some interesting items on display. Then on to Blackness Castle which looked pretty amazing from the outside and is on the list for the return visit as we were fast running out of time.  The day was finished off by a drive over the Forth Road Bridge to see the Forth Rail Bridge.  Yet again magnificent feats of engineering - all three bridges. 

A really full and interesting day to round off our quick visit to Scotland
