Sgwarnog: In the Field

Sky Tower

Towering from Windsor Great Park is this 100 foot totem pole, a gift from the people of British Columbia to Queen Elizabeth II in 1958. If you view large you might be able to pick out the various carvings: Cedar Man, the Whale, Thunderbird, Halibut Man, the Raven, Old Man, Beaver, Sea Otter and Man With Large Hat. Today it was reaching into the clouds.

We met up with some of OH's family and walked a little in what's known as the Royal Landscape around Virginia Water. It was very hot so we kept to the shade as much as possible, we could have done with one of the large hats that the man at the top of the pole has.

The place was awash with dazzling blue damselflies.

Earlier, the day started with some Sky Geometry, and then we were visited by a Migrant Hawker.
