Travellers Joy

After 5 hours and 246 miles we have arrived.

South of Oxford, as we crossed the chalk lands, lots of Old Man's Beard - the wild clematis - draped over the bushes and small trees. Also known as Travellers Joy. And the silver birch and field maple really stood out - glowing yellow against the duller backdrop.

The last leg is always the route across the New Forest. It looks absolutely gorgeous, even in the really dull weather down here. How many leaves will survive the blast of Storm "Angus", due tonight ?

The blip - quick phone snaps as we passed near Newbury.
