They say you're never too old...
Seems to be true. I tend to keep an eye out for dropped bits of Schlumbergia. I never snap bits off, just "tidy up" if there are odd leaves lying around. I must have accumulated in excess of 1/2 dozen plants now. They are doing me the honour of, finally showing their true colours.
A while ago I lifted some, very obviously, damaged bits and stuck 'em in with a view to ... "I wonder if".
I wasn't surprised to see the broken bits fatten up again, but expected them to live out their existence as "blind" stems. I certainly did not expect either growth or flowers from such a piece. Having now seen a flower I'll have to leave it in situ until it either buds & extends or pops its clogs.
