in the pink...

...in Preston Street.
This gorgeous Art Deco cinema has been standing proud and strong for 78 years and operating as a movie house for most of those 78 years apart from those of WW2.
Val..with her equally gorgeous Art Deco earrings (extra)...has been with the Cygnet for 22 years and just as proud of the history of this very beautiful building.

Proud and strong too is Sonia (extra)...the lady in pink standing in front of the Cygnet...and as serendipity would have it we had a fascinating, if brief, conversation as she went through those Art Deco doors  to the morning show.
S is 90 and this morning was a toss up between time in the garden or 'Ballroom Dancing'...Baz won!
Originally from Britain and on her hols in WA, S met 'the love of her life' on a Western Australian beach when she was '50 years and ten days old.'
Our conversation began trying to interpret curious car parking signage and continued up onto a little table and chairs on the cinema steps.

Serendipity indeed.

It was just one of those wonderful days..and all the while 'The Master of Suspense' loomed large over the proceedings (extra)
