Kew Gardens by night - Backblip

We had an amazing day at Kew Gardens in London yesterday.  We left Bedford on the 1010 train and got back to Bedford exactly twelve hours later.

We arrived at Kew at midday and headed straight to the Orangery for a bite to eat before walking in the gardens.  Even though the flowers have long finished there is so much to see, including a walk through the canopy after an energy sapping climb up several flights of stairs.  The beehive is an incredible work of art and worth spending a while under its mass of aluminium listening to the hum of a specially composed soundtrack with the lights vibrating to a nearby hive of real bees.

Out to a nearby pub for dinner, then back just before 6 p.m. for the preview of the Christmas light show.  The show-stopper had to be the ever-changing lights around the palm house.  If you get the chance to go down to see it, it's well worth it.

I've added a few extras.
