Fungus face

This is actually a pupa of the ladybird beetle Illeis galbula. They are fungus eaters and the adults are yellow and black.  I have never noticed the pupa before but my Crepe Myrtle has a lot of fungus all over it and there are all sorts of ladybird parties going on.  Just getting into the Christmas spirit early I suspect.  I thought it resembled a cow with horns on the top but maybe it was wearing a mask.  I don't know, I think I am going mad.  The traffic has picked up, tempers are getting shorter, you don't want to go near a shopping mall and there are Christmas lights going up and I am thinking of buying a turkey.  It must be getting close......
