The Santa Maria Manuela

After we dropped Val at the airport, walked along the Tagus to get a closer look at this 4 mast lugger - a ship built in 1937 for cod fishing in Newfoundland -  in case you're interested, here is a moving film of it in action. It has now been restored and is used as a training ship.

Over a beer in the sunshine, decided to drive to Mourão, instead of home, to get on with task of finding a property there, and making a decision... no pyjamas or change of clothes, and even more distressing, no computer, therefore couldn't blip - but at least we had a toothbrush...

Ended up, in the pitch dark except for a mobile phone, looking over a 7 ha pine forest, way out of town - surreal - don't think that will be the one.
