purple and gold

...not a fly today but a moth. A micro moth, in fact. The Purple and Gold Pyrausta purpuralis is a diminutive but beautiful moth, which is related to the Mint Moth. It has a maximum wingspan of about 20mm.

It has been a real English summer's day, which we spent with our visitors by walking along the Purbeck Ridge from the Lulworth Ranges Road gate to Corfe Castle. Stunning views, gorgeous weather, and great company - what else could one need?

Another weekend nearly gone. Another set of guests waved goodbye to. One more weekend to go and then we will be setting off, back to Italy...
