Seascape

This was taken along the coast just south of Dunedin.  A really stormy sky attracted us to stop and take some photos before heading to Dunedin, then a stop at Palmerston for coffee (and food).

This morning we walked Surat Beach, known for the Hooker Sea Lions, the weather was pretty foul, but the rain passed quickly....it was the wind that was pesky.  However, refreshing and bracing!!  Only one sea lion be found, snuggled into the cliffs lazing around.  I happen to sneeze which gave him a jolt and he did lift his head, gave me the eagle eye, a big yawn then flopped back and continued sleeping. The aren't photogenic when doing nothing.

We had an early lunch, packed up and headed for home around 1pm.  The weather really threw everything at us as we set off, the wind gale force, the rain torrential.  I was driving and had to hold on as the winds pushed the truck every which way.  Fortunately as we drove north the rain stopped and the sun came out.

I'm off for a soak in the bath, then hitting the hay hoping for a long sleep.  We burnt the candle at both ends down there with early starts, and late nights.

Its been an awesome few days, we have done so much, had a lot of fun  with many photo to be edited.  Big thanks to oldTimer for taking us back to her home town area, a place she loves and enjoys sharing with others.
